I've been missing out with so many food reviews from years, months and days because I am really lazy that I don't usually do food reviews and any sort of reviews.
Thanks to my petsister, Catherine who inspires me to start doing reviews because she has been doing reviews in her blog (Please check out her blog, she's brutally honest when it comes to rating foods and locations such as hotel, etc - too lazy to list down) so yeah, I decided to start off with my first food review! :D
# 1 - Ikuzo Ramen, SS2
Located in SS2, it's the same row as where McDonalds is located. It's usually empty because it's a non-halal restaurant (and that explains why it is not as crowded as any other Japanese restaurant as you can see) but it is fine by me because I usually don't like crowded places and certain people would usually go for majority (in terms of how "well-known" the restaurant is) but guess what? Never judge a book by its cover - Their food is incredibly nice and reasonable as well!
The environment of the place is somehow a bit of a hipster-feel-Japanese restaurant because it seems really different. Interior isn't so bad, nice location to eat. Not too humid, not too cold.
From Top To Bottom: Cold Udon and Cold Soba
The noodles and the soup is cold, that's why it's called Cold Udon and Cold Soba. The way of how you eat it is basically dump the noodle into the soup and eat it.
On the side dish, spring onion and wasabi to make the soup nicer - to be honest, when my petsister told me that adding wasabi into the soup is nicer, at first I didn't want to believe it because I thought it is going to make it really, really spicy that I was afraid that the heat would go through my ears and nose (hahahah)
Okay, there comes the part you realize that there is a difference between the top and the bottom of the soup. Petsister ordered Cold Udon and she went for the typical usual cold soup - it taste like soya sauce soup but it is cold in case you are wondering how does it taste like so yeah..
And I ordered Cold Soba, and the soup that I requested for is slightly unique because of the special sauce created by the shop itself (I am not sure what sauce did they use but they are selling it in their shop). It's pretty unique and thicker too... and I liek it :B
I am a huge fan of Cold Soba. To be honest, I wasn't a fan of cold soba before when I was in high school because I didn't know how it tasted like. Apparently, my close friend, Pei Ying ordered this specific Cold Soba that we used to go to a Japanese Restaurant after school as it was just 8 minutes walking distance from my high school to the mall. I was curious to try, and I was curious to know how would it taste like... how does it feels to eat something cold.
Well, maybe I was used to those hot soup..
So, I decided to give a try. My first try if I am not mistaken was in Zanmai before and I liked it.
.. and that's how I got addicted to Cold Soba.
Back to where I was, I would suggest you to go for the special sauce whenever you ordered something cold there because it is one of their specialty. - hey, give it a try if you are planning to pay a visit to eat there someday. :)
Next up:-
Pancake Dumplings! :D It is a mini-sized dumplings and a shaped of a Pancake, the dumplings were obviously underneath... like this:-
Something like that as above and I like the dumpling. Why? You may ask. It doesn't have prawns (A)
Steamed dumplings with fried layer of "pancake-sized" Nice!
This is one awesome fried stuff that I had! Petsister ordered most of the fried appetizer because she knows better.
This is fried fish fillet! :)
Potattooooooooooooooooo
That fried vegetable (Sorry, I forgotten what was it called again) but it is onions mixed with small long carrots.
Did I mentioned that those appetizer doesn't cost so expensive compare to any other restaurants? The cheapest appetizer starts off with RM2 and trust me, it's worth the price.
#2- One of the food court in Mid Valley
There is one food court located in Mid Valley near Machines. They are well-known for their Portuguese food because most people would usually queue up for their Portuguese food. Something "healthy" though.
The portion is moderate (I wouldn't say it's a big portion but it's meant for one pax for each)
I find it incredibly oily. I would not suggest people who can't take spicy to order this - you may see people ordering this because it is one of the specialty in the food court but please don't follow the crowd if you are not a fan of spicy food.

Introducing my petsister's adorable dog! She had been sleeping with us for two days in a row. Her name is Bii and she's mixed!
My sister's cooking:-
And I would say that eversince she made pasta, the first time I tried her cooking - I will never say no to her food because her cooking skills is brilliant and to be honest, I learned a few steps on how to do a proper spaghetti meal (especially when it comes to the noodle part that worries me the most) - She taught me a few ingredients to avoid getting the noodle extremely dry.
Till then! :)
